Falls can be Prevented
Falls can happen anytime and any
place. They are a particularly serious problem for older Americans.
But there's good news.
Falls Can Be Prevented!
Six out of ten fatal falls happen to older people at home, three in 10
occur in public places and the remainder transpires in healthcare
institutions, CDC research shows. About half of older adults who are
hospitalized with a hip fracture are unable to return home or live
independently again. Awareness and Education is the first step.
