How The ResponseLINK System Works
ResponseLINK, A Leader
In Medical Alert Services

Mary Johnson is not feeling very good today and as she is walking to her
kitchen, she begins to feel dizzy and falls on the floor. She
immediately presses her ResponseLINK Medical Alert pendant to
get help.
Within
seconds, Robert, a fully trained and caring ResponseLINK
operator is talking to Mrs. Johnson over the ResponseLINK
monitoring system that was installed in her home a week earlier. "Mary,
This is Robert from ResponseLINK, Do you need help?"

"I can't move! My left arm and leg
have gone numb and I can't seen to get up. I think I might be
having a stroke."
"Hold
on, Mary, I will call the paramedics for you. Don't worry, I'll be right
back."
Robert then dispatches the paramedics without disconnecting the line between
Mrs. Johnson and ResponseLINK. Robert lets Mrs. Johnson know
that the paramedics are on the way and checks on her status to make sure that
her condition is not getting worse. Robert then informs Mrs. Johnson that
he is going to call her daughter who lives a few blocks away. She says,
OK.

Robert then calls Jan Tipton to inform her
that her mother has fallen and feels like she is having a stroke.
Robert tells Jan that the paramedics have been
notified and they are on the way. Jan tells Robert that she will be
right over.
Robert
then goes back over the monitoring system to let Mary know that her daughter
is on her way over. Robert continues to monitor the status of Mrs.
Johnson
by asking her questions. If anything changes, Robert can inform the
paramedics of those changes.

The
paramedics arrive at Mrs. Johnson's home in a matter of minutes. Robert
told the paramedics about the lockbox that
ResponseLINK placed on the outside of her home.
So, instead of breaking a window or a door to help Mrs. Johnson, they are able
to gain access to a spare house key in the lockbox and they can enter
home without doing any damage to the home.
Just as the paramedics are entering Mrs. Johnson's home, her daughter Jan
arrives. They find her lying on the floor near
the kitchen and begin helping her. Because Mary Johnson has the
ResponseLINK monitoring
system,
the paramedics have access to Mary's Vial of Life
which is located on her refrigerator. (The Vial
of Life has all of Mary's medical information and a list of
medications that she is taking. This information is extremely helpful to
the paramedics in case Mrs. Johnson could not speak) The Vial of Life can save precious moments in an emergency
situation.

Robert, the ResponseLINK
operator is still on the monitoring system with Mrs. Johnson, her daughter and
the paramedics. The paramedics inform ResponseLINK that
they are going to take Mrs. Johnson to the Midtown Medical Center.
Robert then lets Jan know that he will call her brother to let him know what
is happening with his mother.
Robert
then calls Bill Johnson to inform him on what is happening with his mother.
"Mr. Johnson, this is Robert with ResponseLINK. Your mother
has had a mild stroke and the paramedics are taking her to the Midtown Medical
Center. Your sister, Jan was notified and she arrived at your mother's
home before the paramedics took her to the
hospital." Bill thanks Robert for the call and says that he's one
his way to the hospital.
